Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 105 BY SENATORS ALARIO, ADLEY, ALLAIN, AMEDEE, APPEL, BROOME, BROWN, BUFFINGTON, CHABERT, CLAI TOR, CORTEZ, CROWE, DONAHUE, DORSEY-COLOMB, ERDEY, GALLOT, GUILLORY, HEITMEIER, JOHNS, KOSTELKA, LAFLEUR, LONG, MARTINY, MILLS, MORRELL, MORRISH , MURRAY, NEVERS, PEACOCK, PERRY, PETERSON, RISER, GARY SMITH, JOHN SMITH, TARVER, THOMPSON, WALSWORTH, WARD AND WHI TE A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Barbara May "Bobbie" Heitmeier, and to celebrate a life well lived in service to her family, to her God, and to her community. WHEREAS, it is with great sorrow that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing of Bobbie Heitmeier on May 4, 2012, at the age of eighty-six; and WHEREAS, she was born Barbara May Cargol on March 21, 1926, to parents, Francis and Florence B. Cargol; and WHEREAS, she was a gentlewoman of abundant social grace and effervescence; she was the beloved wife of the late Dewey J. Heitmeier, during their union of almost sixty years; and WHEREAS, together "Ms. Bobbie" and "Mr. Dewey" were quite the happy duo, the couple were fixtures in and around Algiers, Louisiana, and rarely seen apart; their home was always bustling with activity where Bobbie welcomed friends and family; and WHEREAS, their lives together were focused on the rearing of three very successful sons, Francis, Robert, and David; she gave them fortitude and wings; and WHEREAS, Bobbie Heitmeier was employed for many years by the Second City Court of Orleans Parish Civil District Court, until her retirement; and WHEREAS, Bobbie Heitmeier was a cherished and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love of family was of the utmost importance in her life; and WHEREAS, she is survived by her children, Francis and his wife, Rai Lynn, Robert "Bobby"and his wife, Patricia, David and his wife, Cathy, and grandchildren Cory, Cody, Blake, Leah, Kurt, Meghan, and Ross Heitmeier and one great-grandchild, Nolan Heitmeier; and SR NO. 105 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Bobbie Heitmeier worked tirelessly for the benefit of others, and devoted her life of unselfish service to God as a true steward of her faith as a member of the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, upon her death, the Algiers community lost a most unique individual, who has imparted an indelible mark upon the lives of all those who knew her and who benefited from her love and generosity of spirit; and WHEREAS, although Bobbie Heitmeier has been taken from our midst, she will be remembered for her friendly demeanor, her compassion for others, her smile, her kindness, and her steadfast devotion to her loved ones. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences upon the death of Barbara May "Bobbie" Heitmeier, beloved wife and mother, and does hereby commemorate a life well spent in benevolent service to others. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby pay tribute to the remarkable legacy that shall live on in the hearts of those she touched with her grace. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the sons of Mrs. Bobbie Heitmeier, Senator David Heitmeier, former Senator Francis Heitmeier, and Captain Robert Heitmeier.
