SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 139

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Charles Robichaux on his years of service as principal
at Meaux Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and recognizes him on the occasion of his
retirement.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Charles Robichaux on his years of service as principal at Meaux Elementary2
School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his retirement.3
WHEREAS, Charles Robichaux has served the state of Louisiana and the citizens4
of Vermilion Parish in the education field for fifty years; and5
WHEREAS, he has served as the principal at Meaux Elementary School since 1983;6
and 7
WHEREAS, during Mr. Robichaux's tenure at Meaux Elementary School, enrollment8
has tripled; and9
WHEREAS, under his leadership Meaux Elementary School has been one of the best10
schools in Vermilion Parish with consistently high scores on standardized tests; and11
WHEREAS, if not for health reasons, Mr. Robichaux would have liked to continue12
as principal well into the future; and13
WHEREAS, he is loved and respected by the Vermilion Parish educational14
community, parents, former students, and current Meaux Elementary School students; and15
WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux is married to former educator Peggy Robichaux who is16
the love of his life. 17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana18 SR NO. 139

does hereby commend Charles Robichaux on his years of service as principal at Meaux1
Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and recognizes him on the occasion of his2
retirement.3
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to4
Charles Robichaux.5
