COMMENDATIONS. Commends Pat R. Van Burkleo on being named National Executive
of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate Pat R. Van Burkleo on being selected as National Executive2
of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association.3
WHEREAS, Pat R. Van Burkleo is a passionate, determined, and willing voice for4
young people who need it most and is a visionary leader in the Baton Rouge community, the5
state of Louisiana and the national Boys & Girls Club Movement; and 6
WHEREAS, he serves as president and chief professional officer at the Boys & Girls7
Club of Greater Baton Rouge and was one of five regional winners to be considered for the8
National Executive of the Year Award; and 9
WHEREAS, Pat R. Van Burkleo has been serving the Baton Rouge community and10
the Boys & Girls Club for 22 years and the impact of his service is evident in the way the11
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge has grown through his tenure - from one Club12
location in an old fire station on Winbourne Avenue that served 65 young boys, to 11 Club13
sites currently serving nearly 10,000 school-age youth annually; and 14
WHEREAS, through his vision and persistence, Van Burkleo has implemented15
highly effective programs and leads an outcome-driven organization with proven,16
measurable results; and 17
WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club believes that every child, no matter their life's18 SR NO. 155

circumstances, deserves access to the tools necessary to succeed in life and Pat R. Van1
Burkleo's service to the community is a result of his desire to improve the lives of children;2
and3
WHEREAS, because of his exemplary leadership, he has been named National4
Executive of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association.5
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Pat R. Van Burkleo is hereby commended6
and congratulated on being named the National Executive of the Year by the Boys & Girls7
Clubs of America's Professional Association.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Pat9
R. Van Burkleo.10
