SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 166
BY SENATOR PEACOCK 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends and congratulates Angelo Roppolo on his long life and
myriad of long lasting accomplishments and contributions to his community and the state.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate Angelo Roppolo on his long and very productive life, his2
myriad of long lasting accomplishments, and his contributions to his community and3
the state of Louisiana.4
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo changed the face of politics in the state, literally; and5
WHEREAS, he organized the campaign and helped elect the first African-American6
judge in Shreveport and in Caddo Parish, the first female judge in Caddo Parish, and the first7
female judge on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal; and8
WHEREAS, he served as the Kathleen Blanco campaign chairman for north9
Louisiana and was instrumental in electing the first female governor of Louisiana; and10
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo was heavily involved in making the annual Red Mass11
in Shreveport a successful salute to the legal profession and a special occasion for judges,12
lawyers, and law enforcement officials of all faiths to pray together to ask for God's blessing13
and guidance; and14
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo was a founder of the South Shreveport Business15
Association, an organization dedicated to the success of businesses in a rapidly growing area16
of his community; and 17
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo has been a confidant to and supporter of entrepreneurs18 SR NO. 166

in Shreveport, helping individuals obtain financing for their ventures with a great number1
of these having grown into successful businesses; and2
WHEREAS, his guidance and counsel have been sought by private citizens, leaders3
in business and industry, and politicians at all levels of local, state, and national government4
for more than seven decades; and5
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo has been modest and seldom takes credit, avoiding the6
spotlight; and 7
WHEREAS, Angelo Roppolo is loyal to his friends and true to his core beliefs and8
principles and all who know him are better for it.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana10
does hereby commend Angelo Roppolo on his long and very productive life, his myriad of11
long lasting accomplishments, and his contributions to his community and the state of12
Louisiana.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to14
Angelo Roppolo.15
