Commends Howard Guillory on his years of service as principal at Indian Bayou Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and recognizes him on the occasion of his retirement. A RESOLUTION1 To commend Howard Guillory on his years of service as principal at Indian Bayou2 Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his3 retirement.4 WHEREAS, Howard Guillory has served the state of Louisiana and the citizens of5 Vermilion Parish in the education field for over thirty four years; and6 WHEREAS, he has served as principal at Indian Bayou Elementary School and7 previously taught at J. H. Williams Middle School; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Guillory decided to make education his life's endeavor while he was9 a seventh grader at J. H. Williams Middle School, mainly due to the positive influence of10 teachers such as Eva Landry, Sherry Soriez, Barbara Soriez, Mary Joyce Trahan, and Billy11 Barras; and 12 WHEREAS, he is loved and respected by the Vermilion Parish educational13 community, parents, former students, and current Indian Bayou Elementary School students;14 and15 WHEREAS, he has a great love for Louisiana's culture and lifestyle, and in16 retirement, Mr. Guillory plans to spend more time hunting and fishing; and17 WHEREAS, Mr. Guillory also plans to travel the country with his daughter and18 SR NO. 175 SLS 12RS-4558 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 support her as she competes in triathlons.1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana2 does hereby commend Howard Guillory on his years of service as principal at Indian Bayou3 Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his4 retirement.5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to6 Howard Guillory.7 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Alan Miller.
