Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 175 BY SENATOR PERRY A RESOLUTION To commend Howard Guillory on his years of service as principal at Indian Bayou Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his retirement. WHEREAS, Howard Guillory has served the state of Louisiana and the citizens of Vermilion Parish in the education field for over thirty four years; and WHEREAS, he has served as principal at Indian Bayou Elementary School and previously taught at J. H. Williams Middle School; and WHEREAS, Mr. Guillory decided to make education his life's endeavor while he was a seventh grader at J. H. Williams Middle School, mainly due to the positive influence of teachers such as Eva Landry, Sherry Soriez, Barbara Soriez, Mary Joyce Trahan, and Billy Barras; and WHEREAS, he is loved and respected by the Vermilion Parish educational community, parents, former students, and current Indian Bayou Elementary School students; and WHEREAS, he has a great love for Louisiana's culture and lifestyle, and in retirement, Mr. Guillory plans to spend more time hunting and fishing; and WHEREAS, Mr. Guillory also plans to travel the country with his daughter and support her as she competes in triathlons. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Howard Guillory on his years of service as principal at Indian Bayou Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his retirement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Howard Guillory. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
