SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33
BY SENATOR CLAITOR 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends the Christian Life Academy Crusaders on winning the
2012 Class 1A state boys basketball championship.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Christian Life Academy Crusaders boys basketball team on winning the2
2012 Class 1A state championship.3
WHEREAS, on Thursday, March 8, 2012, the Christian Life Academy Crusaders4
beat their district rival and defending Class 1A champs, the White Castle High School5
Bulldogs, by a score of 66-60 to win the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic6
Association/State Farm Top 28 tournament Class 1A state boys basketball championship;7
and8
WHEREAS, the Crusaders claimed their fifth championship title in seven years; and9
WHEREAS, in the first half of the championship game, the Crusaders made more10
than eighty percent of its field goal attempts; and11
WHEREAS, the Crusaders shot seventy-six percent from the field and made an12
impressive eighty-six percent of its first-half shots from the field to secure the championship;13
and14
WHEREAS, Sophomore Johnathan Stove finished with a game-high nineteen points15
and nine rebounds, and was voted Outstanding Player in the title game; and16
WHEREAS, Frank Bartley scored sixteen points and had seven assists, and Stephen17
Couvillion scored sixteen points as well, ensuring a Crusaders victory and garnering the18 SR NO. 33

sixth state title in school history; and1
WHEREAS, the Christian Life Academy Crusaders championship boys basketball2
team consist of the following members: Frank Bartley, Jerry Burden, Jamie Calvin, Stephen3
Couvillion, Noah Dees, Tim Eakels, Daniel Gaddis, Malik Harrison, R. J. Hertzog, Justin4
Hutchinson, Dameion Lee, Kevin Ridgley, Barrett Riley, Gerard Robinson, Johnathan Stove,5
J. D. Wilkerson, Mitch Wilkerson, Jacob Williams, and Sam Williams; and 6
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved7
without the guidance and skills of head coach Mark Cascio and assistant coaches, Chad8
Andrepont and Henry Crump Jr., as well as all of the other individuals who have contributed9
to the success of the boys basketball program; and10
WHEREAS, the outstanding performance of the Christian Life Academy Crusaders11
boys basketball team during the 2011-2012 season brings immense pride to the alumni, the12
school, the community, and the state of Louisiana.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana14
does hereby commend and congratulate the Christian Life Academy boys basketball team15
for its outstanding performance in the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic16
Association/State Farm Top 28 tournament Class 1A state boys basketball championship,17
congratulates the team for a sensational 2011-2012 season, and extends best wishes to the18
players and coaches as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued19
success in the future.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the21
Christian Life Academy basketball coach, Mark Cascio.22
