SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33
BY SENATOR CLAITOR 
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Christian Life Academy Crusaders boys basketball team on winning the
2012 Class 1A state championship.
WHEREAS, on Thursday, March 8, 2012, the Christian Life Academy Crusaders
beat their district rival and defending Class 1A champs, the White Castle High School
Bulldogs, by a score of 66-60 to win the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic
Association/State Farm Top 28 tournament Class 1A state boys basketball championship;
and
WHEREAS, the Crusaders claimed their fifth championship title in seven years; and
WHEREAS, in the first half of the championship game, the Crusaders made more
than eighty percent of its field goal attempts; and
WHEREAS, the Crusaders shot seventy-six percent from the field and made an
impressive eighty-six percent of its first-half shots from the field to secure the championship;
and
WHEREAS, Sophomore Johnathan Stove finished with a game-high nineteen points
and nine rebounds, and was voted Outstanding Player in the title game; and
WHEREAS, Frank Bartley scored sixteen points and had seven assists, and Stephen
Couvillion scored sixteen points as well, ensuring a Crusaders victory and garnering the
sixth state title in school history; and
WHEREAS, the Christian Life Academy Crusaders championship boys basketball
team consists of the following members: Frank Bartley, Jerry Burden, Jamie Calvin, Stephen
Couvillion, Noah Dees, Tim Eakels, Daniel Gaddis, Malik Harrison, R. J. Hertzog, Justin
Hutchinson, Dameion Lee, Kevin Ridgley, Barrett Riley, Gerard Robinson, Johnathan Stove,
J. D. Wilkerson, Mitch Wilkerson, Jacob Williams, and Sam Williams; and 
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of head coach Mark Cascio and assistant coaches, Chad
Andrepont and Henry Crump Jr., as well as all of the other individuals who have contributed
to the success of the boys basketball program; and SR NO. 33	ENROLLED

WHEREAS, the outstanding performance of the Christian Life Academy Crusaders
boys basketball team during the 2011-2012 season brings immense pride to the alumni, the
school, the community, and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the Christian Life Academy boys basketball team
for its outstanding performance in the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic
Association/State Farm Top 28 tournament Class 1A state boys basketball championship,
congratulates the team for a sensational 2011-2012 season, and extends best wishes to the
players and coaches as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued
success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Christian Life Academy basketball coach, Mark Cascio.
