COMMENDATIONS. Commends Lisa Tarpley Price upon her induction as Louisiana
district governor for Pilot International.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Lisa Tarpley Price upon her induction as Louisiana district governor for Pilot2
International.3
WHEREAS, Mrs. Price is a twenty-seven year teaching veteran from Winnfield,4
Louisiana; and5
WHEREAS, she graduated from Grant High School in Dry Prong, Louisiana, and6
received a bachelor of arts degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from7
Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana; and8
WHEREAS, she has been a summer LEAP Remediation Teacher for Winn Parish9
schools, has served on the Grant Parish School Board and currently serves on the Winn10
Parish School Board; and11
WHEREAS, Mrs. Price is tremendously active in civic activities including being a12
member and foster parent for pets for the Heart of Louisiana Humane Society in Winnfield,13
Louisiana, a sponsor/advisor for Winn Parish School Vocational Programs, former president14
of the Pilot Club of Winnfield, a division of Pilot International, served on the Louisiana Pilot15
District, and an active member of Winnfield First Baptist Church; and16
WHEREAS, founded in 1921, Pilot International is a volunteer service organization;17

WHEREAS, the historic inspiration for the name was the riverboat pilot who would1
steer a true course through calm or troubled waters and thus the motto "true course ever";2
and3
WHEREAS, Pilot International members are business and professional leaders who4
share a common trait, the desire to help people in need and to make the world a better place5
to live; and6
WHEREAS, since 1991, the focus of Pilot International is helping people affected7
by brain related disorders; and8
WHEREAS, Mrs. Price chairs a number of fundraisers for individuals with brain or9
learning disabilities including the Louisiana Forest Festival Pageant and Winn Parish Fair10
and Festival; and11
WHEREAS, she has been a driving force in the Winnfield Pilot Club which currently12
has over forty active members; and13
WHEREAS, as an educator, she is attuned to the special needs of children and was14
pivotal in the Winnfield club decision to raise money to provide for "Wonder Works"15
playground equipment for challenged individuals who are unable to use traditional16
playground equipment; and17
WHEREAS, Mrs. Price is married to Jerry Price of Winnfield, Louisiana, and has18
five children: Bryan, Michael, Leigh Anne, Anna, and Will, along with two grandchildren,19
Lily and August.20
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana21
does hereby commend Lisa Tarpley Price upon her induction as Louisiana district governor22
for Pilot International.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Mrs.24
Lisa Tarpley Price.25
