SENATE. Provides relative to the procedures for establishing the vouchered allotment for
members of the Senate.
A RESOLUTION1
To amend and readopt Senate Rule No. 13.22(C) of the Rules of Order of the Senate; to2
provide relative to the procedure for establishing the annual vouchered allotment for3
members of the Senate; to provide that the vouchered allotment be established at the4
beginning of each term for members of the Senate.5
BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana amends and6
readopts Senate Rule No. 13.22(C) of the Rules of Order of the Senate to read as follows:7

C.(1) The committee shall have the authority to establish an annual10
vouchered allotment for members of the Senate to be drawn by each member in11
monthly payments. This vouchered allotment shall be used exclusively for expenses12
incurred in the course and scope of duties as a member of the Senate such as rent for13
office space; electricity; water; gas; telephone; communication services; stationery;14
supplies; mileage or expense reimbursement for official travel in or out of state; and15
other expenses related to the holding or conduct of office. The committee may16
authorize an unexpended allotment amount to be carried forward from one fiscal year17 SR NO. 43

into the next fiscal year.1
(2) The allotment shall be established no later than May fifteenth of each2
calendar year the first calendar year of each term of office to be effective for the3
succeeding fiscal year four-year term, until changed by the Executive4
Committee pursuant to the adoption of a resolution as provided in this5
Paragraph. This allotment shall be set or changed by the adoption of a resolution6
of the Executive Committee in an open public hearing.7
