SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 44
BY SENATOR MORRELL 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Brother Martin High School of New Orleans upon its
capture of the 2011-2012 Division I State Wrestling Championship.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate the Brother Martin High School wrestling team upon its win2
of the 2011-2012 Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Wrestling3
Championship Tournament for Division I.4
WHEREAS, Brother Martin High School's wrestling team had an outstanding season5
which culminated in a total of 283 points in February 2012, edging out top rivals Catholic6
High of Baton Rouge and defending state champions, Rummell of New Orleans; and7
WHEREAS, Brother Martin sets very high standards for both academics and athletics8
with a rich history of wrestling competition, as demonstrated by the fact that this triumph9
is its thirteenth state wrestling championship since 1979; and10
WHEREAS, this year's team became a cohesive unit with a singular unifying motto,11
"One Team - One Dream", which brought their state title aspirations to fruition; and12
WHEREAS, the Crusaders of Brother Martin cemented their victory through the13
superior leadership and training of head coach, Robert Dauterive, and assistant coaches14
James Casadaban, J. P. Luckett, Adam Manguno, Casey Perino, and J. P. Pierre; and15
WHEREAS, the competing members in tournament play were, by ascending weight16
class, Paul Klein, Blake Schmidt, Dominic Casadaban, Tyler Robertson, Logan Labry,17
Devin LeBlanc, John Mudge, Austin Ivicevich, Daniel Albrecht, Kyle Delaune, Dylan Dunn,18 SR NO. 44

Gerard Roman, Raymond Riviere, and Ross Brister; and1
WHEREAS, all members of the wrestling team are to be congratulated for the honor2
and distinction they bring to the student body, faculty, and alumni of Brother Martin High3
School, to the city of New Orleans, and to the state of Louisiana.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana5
does hereby commend and congratulate Brother Martin High School on its win of the 2011-6
2012 Division I LHSAA Wrestling State Championship for the state of Louisiana.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to8
Robbie Dauterive, wrestling head coach, and to Greg Rando, principal of Brother Martin9
High School.10
