SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 60

CONDOLENCES. Extends condolences on the death of United States Army Specialist
Matthew Wade Comeaux.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2
death of United States Army Specialist Matthew Wade Comeaux while in the service3
of his country.4
WHEREAS, Specialist Comeaux served with great distinction during his time in5
uniform; and6
WHEREAS, Specialist Comeaux was especially proud of his brave service during7
Operation Enduring Freedom; and8
WHEREAS, Specialist Comeaux's tour of duty in Afghanistan involved his9
participation in combat operations and he performed his military duties in an outstanding10
fashion, according to standards in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States11
Army; and12
WHEREAS, Specialist Comeaux was on active duty with the Armed Forces when13
he passed away June 5, 2011, at the age of twenty-one; and14
WHEREAS, while his loss to his family, friends and fellow soldiers is immeasurable,15
he will continue to live on in their hearts and the memories of him will remain with them;16
and17
WHEREAS, Specialist Comeaux joins a very special group of young Americans who18 SR NO. 60

have courageously served their country during the United States War on Terror and have1
fought to preserve the freedoms held so preciously by so many.2
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana3
does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to those who loved Specialist4
Matthew Comeaux and know the world is a lesser place without him.5
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the6
family of United States Army Specialist Matthew Comeaux.7
