Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 68 BY SENATOR LONG A RESOLUTION To commend the Louisiana oil and gas industry and recognize Wednesday, April 18, 2012, as Shale Day at the Louisiana State Capitol. WHEREAS, it is with great pride and gratitude that the Louisiana Senate commends the Louisiana oil and gas industry for the contributions it has made to the economy of the state and to the prosperity of its citizens; and WHEREAS, Shale Day at the Louisiana State Capitol is an annual event where the oil and gas industry gathers to celebrate the abundant shale resources within the state including the Haynesville Shale, the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, and the Brown Dense; and WHEREAS, on Shale Day, companies in the oil and gas industry from around the state offer educational literature, scale models, photos, and videos from the oil and gas field to help bring awareness to the industry; and WHEREAS, the oil and gas industry will certainly continue to produce consumer-ready resources, create thousands of jobs for our workforce, and remain committed to the safety of our communities and the preservation of the environment with which we have been entrusted. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Louisiana oil and gas industry for its contributions to the state and its citizens and does hereby recognize Wednesday, April 18, 2012, as Shale Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
