Commends Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias upon his retirement from the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office after thirty-three years of dedicated and distinguished service. A RESOLUTION1 To commend and express appreciation to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for thirty-three2 years of dedicated and distinguished law enforcement service with the West Baton3 Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office on the occasion of his retirement.4 WHEREAS, Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias, was born in 1952 and is a lifelong5 resident of Brusly, Louisiana, and a 1970 graduate of Brusly High School; and 6 WHEREAS, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, is a member of Union7 Baptist Church in Brusly; and 8 WHEREAS, he is married to Frances Davis Tobias and they have three children;9 Frederick, Leonard, and Kevin; and 10 WHEREAS, Charlie Tobias has served in the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office in11 various capacities for thirty-three years, including as Chief Administrator for the last twenty12 years and Major of the Criminal Division for over five years; and 13 WHEREAS, although his retirement will be official on June 15, 2012, his retirement14 celebration will be held on May 6, 2012; and 15 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a sincere and heartfelt measure of appreciation be16 expressed to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for his remarkable term of professional17 service, including his guidance and leadership, to his community and his state.18 SR NO. 99 SLS 12RS-3403 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana1 does hereby commend and express appreciation to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for2 thirty-three years of dedicated and distinguished law enforcement service with the West3 Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office on the occasion of his retirement.4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to5 Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias.6 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Jerry J.
