Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 99 BY SENATOR BROWN A RESOLUTION To commend and express appreciation to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for thirty-three years of dedicated and distinguished law enforcement service with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office on the occasion of his retirement. WHEREAS, Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias, was born in 1952 and is a lifelong resident of Brusly, Louisiana, and a 1970 graduate of Brusly High School; and WHEREAS, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, is a member of Union Baptist Church in Brusly; and WHEREAS, he is married to Frances Davis Tobias and they have three children; Frederick, Leonard, and Kevin; and WHEREAS, Charlie Tobias has served in the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office in various capacities for thirty-three years, including as Chief Administrator for the last twenty years and Major of the Criminal Division for over five years; and WHEREAS, although his retirement will be official on June 15, 2012, his retirement celebration will be held on May 6, 2012; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a sincere and heartfelt measure of appreciation be expressed to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for his remarkable term of professional service, including his guidance and leadership, to his community and his state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and express appreciation to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias for thirty-three years of dedicated and distinguished law enforcement service with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office on the occasion of his retirement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Leonard Charles "Charlie" Tobias. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
