DISTRICTS/NEIGHBORHOOD: Changes the boundaries of the McKendall Estates
Neighborhood Improvement District in Orleans Parish
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9080.1(B), relative to Orleans Parish; to provide relative to2
the McKendall Estates Neighborhood Improvement District; to change the3
boundaries of the district; and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published5
as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of6
Louisiana.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. R.S. 33:9080.1(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:9
ยง9080.1. McKendall Estates Neighborhood Improvement District10

B. Boundaries. (1) The district shall be comprised of the area of the parish12
of Orleans lying within the following perimeter: Parcel of ground bounded by13
Bullard Avenue, Dwyer Road South Easterlyn Circle, Jahncke Road or Canal (side),14
and Lake Forest Boulevard (side).15
(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, the16
properties located at 5555 Bullard Avenue and 5661 Bullard Avenue shall not be17
included in the district.18

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not1
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature2
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If3
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become4
effective on the day following such approval.5

Abstract: Relative to the McKendall Estates Neighborhood Improvement District in
Orleans Parish, changes the boundaries of the district.
Present law creates the McKendall Estates Neighborhood Improvement District as a political
subdivision of the state in Orleans Parish for the primary object and purpose of promoting
and encouraging the beautification, security, and overall betterment of the area included
within the district. Provides that the district is governed by a seven-member board of
commissioners and provides for district boundaries.
Proposed law retains present law but makes changes to the district's boundaries.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
