HOUSE BILL NO. 12

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
DOTD in the matter of "Mohammad Akram v. Hilton Gauthier, Degeyter Trucking,
Inc., and Canal Indemnity Company"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2013-2
2014 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of3
Transportation and Development in the suit entitled "Mohammad Akram v. Hilton4
Gauthier, Degeyter Trucking, Inc., and Canal Indemnity Company"; and to provide5
for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of Five Thousand and No/100 ($5,000.00) Dollars is hereby8
appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 to9
be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Mohammad Akram v. Hilton10
Gauthier, Degeyter Trucking, Inc., and Canal Indemnity Company", bearing Number 2009-11
0075 "A" on the docket of the Fourteenth Judicial District Court, parish of Calcasieu, state12
of Louisiana.13
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2013; if vetoed by the governor14
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,15
2013, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 16 HLS 13RS-317	ORIGINAL
