Abstract: Creates the special prestige license plate to be known as the "March of Dimes" license
plate.  Provides for the fees, distribution of fees, issuance, creation, and design of the
license plate and promulgation of rules.
Proposed law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special
prestige license plates to be known as the "March of Dimes" license plate.
Proposed law provides that the prestige license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any
citizen of La. in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the secretary to work in conjunction with the March of Dimes La.
Chapter to select the color and design of the plates.
Proposed law requires the department to collect an annual royalty fee of $25 for each plate issued
and specifies that such fees be collected by the department and forwarded to the March of Dimes
La. Chapter.  Specifies that the monies received from the royalty fees shall be used solely for the
support of programs administered by the March of Dimes La. Chapter. Further provides for the
standard registration license fee and a handling fee of $3.50 to be retained by the department to
offset a portion of administrative costs.
Proposed law requires the secretary to adopt rules and regulations to implement the provisions
provided in proposed law.
