Present law provides that, except for carriers making local pickups or deliveries, carriers using the route to reach a local pickup or delivery point, or carriers traveling to or from their terminal facilities, or carriers using the route to reach maintenance or service facilities within the boundaries of the parish, no carrier shall transport hazardous materials in the parishes of Caddo or Bossier, except on specific routes listed in present law, including but not limited to Interstate 49 between the Caddo-DeSoto parish boundary and its intersection with Interstate 20. Proposed law retains present law and changes the route specified as Interstate 49 between the Caddo-DeSoto parish boundary and its intersection with Interstate 20 to the route specified as Interstate 49 between the Caddo-DeSoto parish boundary and its intersection with the Louisiana-Arkansas boundary.
