Abstract: Extends the $1,000,000 contract limit for certain levee projects in the Terrebonne
Levee and Conservation District and the South Lafourche Levee District until Dec. 31,
2016.
Present law requires public work exceeding the contract limit of $150,000 to be advertised and
let to the lowest responsible bidder. Provides for a contract limit of $1,000,000 for work on
certain levees for contracts awarded, or agreements entered into, until Dec. 31, 2014.
Proposed law retains present law except it extends the $1,000,000 contract limit for contracts
issued by the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District and the South Lafourche Levee
District from Dec. 31, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2016.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
