Abstract: Provides relative to sponsorship of signs on state-owned ferries, rights-of-way, and
assets. 
Present law provides that the Department of Transportation and Development shall regulate the
placement, erection, and maintenance of advertising signs on state-owned ferries.  The
department shall establish appropriate and reasonable fees for such advertisement in accordance
with the Administrative Procedure Act. Proposed law provides for the department to also
regulate the sponsorship of signs on state-owned ferries, as well as all rights-of-way and assets of
the department.
Proposed law provides that the rules and regulations promulgated by the department shall also be
consistent with federal standards pursuant to Title 23 of the U.S. Code.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
