Abstract: Requires the La. Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of
Criminal Justice to distribute criminal statistic reports in printed form to the governor and
certain legislative committee chairmen, and provides for the electronic distribution of
those reports to other public officials.
Present law requires the La. Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of
Criminal Justice to present annual printed reports containing criminal statistics of the preceding
year to the governor and members of the legislature.  Further requires the commission to print a
sufficient number of reports for all public officials dealing with crimes or criminals and for
general distribution.
Proposed law requires the commission to present such reports for the most recently available
calendar year.  Further requires the commission to print copies for distribution to the governor,
certain legislative committee chairman, and others who request a report, and authorizes the
dissemination of the report on the commission's website to other public officials and for general
distribution.
