AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 14:95.2(C)(1), relative to the crime of carrying a firearm or2
dangerous weapon on school property; to provide with respect to the carrying of a3
firearm or dangerous weapon by a law enforcement officer; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 14:95.2(C)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง95.2. Carrying a firearm, or dangerous weapon, by a student or nonstudent on8
school property, at school-sponsored functions , or in a firearm-free zone9

C. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to:11
(1) A federal law enforcement officer or a Louisiana commissioned state, or12
local Post Certified law enforcement officer who is authorized to carry a firearm in13
the performance of his official duties.14
