REAL ESTATE/APPRAISERS:  Extends the sunset date for real estate appraisal
management company licensing application assessments
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 37:3415.10(D), relative to real estate appraisal management2
companies; to extend the sunset provision for licensing application assessments; and3
to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 37:3415.10(D) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6

D. The provisions of this Section shall expire on December 31, 20139
December 31, 2015.10
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not11
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature12
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If13
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become14

Abstract: Extends the sunset provision for real estate appraisal management company
licensing application assessments to Dec. 31, 2015.
Present law authorizes the La. Real Estate Appraisers Board to collect an assessment not in
excess of $1,500 when accepting an application for an initial or renewal license.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law further authorizes the board to collect the following delinquent renewal
assessments if the license renewal is delinquent:
(1)If the renewal application is submitted during the period of Jan. 1 to Feb. 15, an
amount not in excess of $150.
(2)If the renewal application is submitted during the period of Feb. 16 to June 30, an
amount not in excess of $300.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law requires the initial application assessment to be prorated to the remaining portion
of the year ending Dec. 31 if an initial license is issued after Jan. 1 of any year.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law provides that the provisions of present law shall expire on Dec. 31, 2013.
Proposed law extends present law expiration to Dec. 31, 2015.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
