APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the State of Louisiana, DOTD in "Jean Boudreaux and the Victims of the Flood of
April 6, 1983, on the Tangipahoa River v. State of La."
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2013-2
2014 to be used to pay the final judgment in the suit entitled "Jean Boudreaux and3
the Victims of the Flood on April 6, 1983 on the Tangipahoa River v. State of4
Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development, et al"; to provide for5
interest; and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of Ninety-One Million Eight Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand8
Seven Hundred Twenty and 79/100 ($91,824,720.79) Dollars, plus legal interest from April9
6, 1984, until paid, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana10
for Fiscal Year 2013-2014, which shall be payable to plaintiffs through Hancock Bank, as11
escrow agent, into escrow account number 1097000229 for payment of the judgment12
rendered in the class action suit entitled "Jean Boudreaux and the Victims of the Flood on13
April 6, 1983 on the Tangipahoa River v. State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation14
and Development, et al", bearing Number 2004-0985 on the docket of the Twenty-First15
Judicial District Court, parish of Tangipahoa, state of Louisiana, which appropriation is to16
be made only after there is a signed agreement of judgment between the class and the state.17
Section 2. The judgment provided for in Section 1 hereof shall be deemed to have18
been paid on the effective date of this Act and legal interest shall cease to run as of that date.19 HLS 13RS-400 ORIGINAL

Section 3. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2013; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2013, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 3
