SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes Wednesday, April 10, 2013, as Human
Resource Management Day
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To recognize April 10, 2013, as Human Resource Management Day in Louisiana and to2
commend the members of the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management.3
WHEREAS, human resource management plays a vital role in maintaining the4
functionality of workforces in society, and organizations rely on human resource5
management for not only the hiring and training of employees but for the assessment and6
rewarding of employees as well; and7
WHEREAS, the Society for Human Resource Management is the largest professional8
human resources association in the United States, and the Louisiana Society for Human9
Resource Management is a local, affiliated chapter of the association; and10
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management acts as a11
source of information, communication, and networking to enhance knowledge and improve12
the services of human resource management professionals; and13
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management consists of ten14
local chapters and seven student chapters which effectively provide services to members15
across the entire state of Louisiana and promote awareness of and attention to the field of16
human resource management; and17
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management serves as an18
important association in the state by providing a community for human resource19
professionals, building and sustaining partnerships, and proactively providing education and20

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby1
recognize April 10, 2013, as Human Resource Management Day in Louisiana and does2
hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management3
for their significant contributions to the citizens of Louisiana.4
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted5
to the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management.6
