PUBLIC HEALTH.  Memorializes congress to study the causes, effects, prevention,
and treatment of early mortality syndrome in the national and international shrimp
industry.
DIGEST
Memorializes the Congress of the United States to study the causes, effects, prevention, and
treatment of early mortality syndrome in the national and international shrimp industry and
take all appropriate actions necessary to fully protect the shrimp industry in Louisiana and
other states from this disease.

Committee Amendments Proposed by Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer
Protection, and International Affairs to the original bill
1. Removes language memorializing Congress to ban all imported shrimp from
several countries.
2. Adds language memorializing Congress to study the causes, effects,
prevention, and treatment of early mortality syndrome in the national and
international shrimp industry and take all appropriate actions necessary to
fully protect the shrimp industry in Louisiana and other states from this
disease.
