COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Christopher R. Quintyne upon his graduation from law
school and his dedication to the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Christopher R. Quintyne upon his graduation from Southern University Law2
Center, from Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College, and for his3
dedication to the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.4
WHEREAS, when Christopher R. Quintyne completed his bachelor of arts degree5
in justice from The American University in Washington, D.C., in 2010, he chose to pursue6
a masters degree in public administration and a juris doctor degree at Southern University7
Agricultural and Mechanical College, the largest historically black college land grant8
institution in the United States; and9
WHEREAS, having left his hometown of Silver Spring, Maryland, Mr. Quintyne10
accelerated his integration into the Baton Rouge community by accepting an internship with11
the National Urban League; and12
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus offered Mr. Quintyne an13
opportunity to expand his understanding of the law from the perspective of the legislature,14
and he became a student intern for the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus; and15
WHEREAS, in the three years of Mr. Quintyne's service with the Louisiana16
Legislative Black Caucus, he served effectively and efficiently under three chairmen; and17 HLS 13RS-3241	ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, Mr. Quintyne has served two consecutive summers as a legal intern for1
United States Senator Mary Landrieu and United States Congressman Cedric Richmond; and2
WHEREAS, on May 11, 2013, Mr. Quintyne received a masters of public3
administration from Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College and was one4
of one hundred seventy-three candidates who received their juris doctor degrees at the5
commencement ceremony of the Southern University Law Center in the F.G. Clark Activity6
Center in Baton Rouge; and7
WHEREAS, Mr. Quintyne will leave the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus to8
resume his studies for the bar exam in the nation's capitol, and it is with great sadness at his9
departure that the members of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus wish him a fond10
farewell and the best of all possible futures.11
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby12
commend Christopher R. Quintyne for three years of exemplary service to the Louisiana13
Legislative Black Caucus and to the great state of Louisiana, does hereby express14
appreciation for the valuable work he performed while employed at the Louisiana State15
Capitol, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for his future endeavors in the law and16
in life.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted18
to Mr. Christopher R. Quintyne.19
