ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2013 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 134 BY REPRESENTATIVES KATRINA JACKSON, BADON, BARROW, WESL EY BISHOP, BROSSETT, BURRELL, COX, DIXON, FRANKLIN, GAINES, HONORE, HUNTER, GIROD JACKSON, JAMES, JEFFERSON, TERRY LANDRY, NORTON, PIERRE, PRICE, SMITH, THIERRY, ALFRED WILLIAMS, AND PATRICK WILLIAMS AND SENATORS BROOME, BROWN, DORSEY-COLOMB, GALLOT, GUI LLORY, MORRELL, MURRAY, PETERSON, AND TARVER A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend Christopher R. Quintyne upon his graduation from Southern University Law Center, from Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College, and for his dedication to the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus. WHEREAS, when Christopher R. Quintyne completed his bachelor of arts degree in justice from The American University in Washington, D.C., in 2010, he chose to pursue a masters degree in public administration and a juris doctor degree at Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College, the largest historically black college land grant institution in the United States; and WHEREAS, having left his hometown of Silver Spring, Maryland, Mr. Quintyne accelerated his integration into the Baton Rouge community by accepting an internship with the National Urban League; and WHEREAS, the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus offered Mr. Quintyne an opportunity to expand his understanding of the law from the perspective of the legislature, and he became a student intern for the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus; and WHEREAS, in the three years of Mr. Quintyne's service with the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, he served effectively and efficiently under three chairmen; and WHEREAS, Mr. Quintyne has served two consecutive summers as a legal intern for United States Senator Mary Landrieu and United States Congressman Cedric Richmond; and WHEREAS, on May 11, 2013, Mr. Quintyne received a masters of public administration from Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical College and was one ENROLLEDHCR NO. 134 Page 2 of 2 of one hundred seventy-t hree candidates who received their juris doctor degrees at the commencement ceremony of the Southern University Law Center in the F.G. Clark Activity Center in Baton Rouge; and WHEREAS, Mr. Quintyne will leave the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus to resume his studies for the bar exam in the nation's capitol, and it is with great sadness at his departure that the members of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus wish him a fond farewell and the best of all possible futures. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Christopher R. Quintyne for three years of exemplary service to the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus and to the great state of Louisiana, does hereby express appreciation for the valuable work he performed while employed at the Louisiana State Capitol, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for his future endeavors in the law and in life.
