HLS 13RS-4024 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 3 Regular Session, 2013 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 158 BY REPRESENTATIVE LEGER CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences upon the death of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., of Houma A RESOLUTION1 To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Gerald Paul2 Doiron, Sr., of Houma.3 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that members of the4 Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr.,5 on Friday, May 31, 2013, at the age of seventy-nine; and6 WHEREAS, Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., was born to the late Clayton and Marguerite7 Doiron in Houma, Louisiana, on July 15, 1933, and was the oldest boy of eight children; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron attended St. Francis de Sales School and graduated in 1951,9 he was on the first football team at the school, was crowned homecoming king, and was the10 first recipient of the Bishop Schexnayder Award; and11 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron served his country honorably in the United States Army for12 many years; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a man of passion and diligence who went to electronic14 trade school after leaving the military, and was the owner of Doiron's T.V. Sales & Service15 for fifty years. He was known as the "TV" man among many in Houma and was assisted in16 the business by his son, Jerry, who will never forget all of the knowledge and wisdom his17 greatest mentor, his father, gave him; and 18 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Maria Immacolata19 Catholic Church; and20 HLS 13RS-4024 ORIGINAL HR NO. 158 Page 2 of 3 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was married to his beloved wife, Kathleen Griffin, for1 thirty-nine years; and2 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a devoted father to Becky Blanchard, Brenda Doiron,3 Gerald "Jerry" Doiron, Jr., Beth McNamara, Bridget Lusco, and Amanda Falgoust; and 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a wonderful grandfather to Danielle Doiron Leger,5 Brandon McNamara, Brent McNamara, Lauren Lusco, Tyler Lusco, Katelyn Falgoust, and6 Carter Falgoust, and great-grandfather to Braxton McNamara; and7 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron enjoyed fishing, playing drums and piano, and spending8 time with his family; and9 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was the rock of his family, and was known by "daddy",10 "pawpaw" and "Bruh-man"; and 11 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron's family is thankful for the many wonderful memories12 shared while fishing with him, the Tuesday family suppers, the Doiron Christmas parties13 where he played drums and sang Christmas carols, the many fishing trips at the camp, and14 many more memories that will be cherished for the rest of their days; and15 WHEREAS, although his death has left a tremendous void in his community and16 family, Mr. Doiron's memory shall live on forever in the minds and hearts of all who were17 fortunate enough to have known and loved him. 18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the19 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend sincere regrets and condolences to the family20 of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., of Houma on the occasion of his death, and does hereby21 acknowledge with gratitude his outstanding service, many accomplishments, and22 extraordinary love for his family.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted24 to the family of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr.25 HLS 13RS-4024 ORIGINAL HR NO. 158 Page 3 of 3 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
