CONDOLENCES:  Expresses condolences upon the death of Bryan Keith Brumfield
A RESOLUTION1
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Bryan Keith2
Brumfield of Fluker, Louisiana, on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the age of fifty.3
WHEREAS, Bryan Keith Brumfield was born on February 6, 1963, in New Orleans,4
and was a graduate of Nichols State University where he was a four-year football letterman;5
and6
WHEREAS, Mr. Brumfield was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church7
in Amite and an active member and past president of the Amite Kiwanis Club; and8
WHEREAS, Mr. Brumfield served as a board member of the Amite Area Youth9
Sports Babe Ruth League, as vice chairman of Fire District 1, and as president of the Oak10
Forest Academy Booster Club; and11
WHEREAS, Mr. Brumfield was active in the business community of Amite as an12
Allstate agent; and13
WHEREAS, Mr. Brumfield was preceded in death by his parents, Claude H. "Hank"14
Brumfield, Sr., and Eleanor Vessier "Cricket" Brumfield; one brother, Claude H. Brumfield,15
Jr.; paternal grandparents, Welton and Josephine Brumfield; and maternal grandparents,16
Rene and Hallie Vessier; and17
WHEREAS, Mr. Brumfield is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Jan Kent18
Brumfield; one daughter, Lauren Kent Brumfield; two sons, Caleb Bryan Brumfield and19
Bradley Keith Brumfield; and two sisters, Sara Frances Brumfield and Barbara Davis; and20 HLS 13RS-1772	ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, with the death of Bryan Keith Brumfield, Louisiana has lost one of her1
finest citizens, a true gentlemen who served his community and left an indelible mark on the2
lives of the many citizens whose lives he touched, and one who was a loving husband, father,3
and friend who will be deeply missed; and4
WHEREAS, although his death has left a tremendous void in his community and5
throughout the state, Mr. Brumfield's memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of6
all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him.7
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the8
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the9
death of Bryan Keith Brumfield of Fluker, does hereby recognize and record for posterity10
his outstanding achievements and singular contributions, and does hereby extend true11
appreciation for his enduring legacy which will forever continue to be a source of deep pride12
and honor for his family, friends, colleagues, community, and the state of Louisiana.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted14
to the family of Bryan Keith Brumfield.15
