Allain (SB 157)
Proposed law prohibits the take or possession of red snapper within the state water boundaries,
except in open seasons.
Proposed law prohibits the sale, exchange, or offer for sale or exchange, or possession or
importation of red snapper with intent to sell within the state or state water boundaries, except in
open seasons. 
Proposed law allows the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission to open or close the seasons based
on biological and technical data.  Further allows the commission to set rules for daily take,
possession, and size limits on red snapper.
Proposed law provides that a violation of proposed law is a class 5-B violation.
Effective August 1, 2013.
