AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 13:50, relative to certain judicial salaries; to provide for salary increases for2 judges of the supreme court, courts of appeal, district courts, city courts, and parish3 courts as recommended by the Judicial Compensation Commission; and to provide4 for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 13:50 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง50. Salary as recommended by the Judicial Compensation Commission8 Pursuant to the Judicial Compensation Commission's report dated9 January 9, 2013:10 (1)(a) Effective July 1, 2013, the actual salary of the judges of the11 supreme court, courts of appeal, and district courts shall be increased as12 follows:13 (i) Supreme court โ five and one-half percent.14 (ii) Courts of appeal โ three and seven-tenths percent.15 (iii) District courts โ four percent.16 (b) The actual salary of the judges of the supreme court, courts of17 appeal, and district courts shall be increased by two and one-tenth percent on18 July first of 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.19 (2)(a) Effective July 1, 2013, the state-paid actual salary of the judges of20 city courts and parish courts shall be increased by four percent.21 (b) The state-paid actual salary of the judges of city courts and parish22 courts shall be increased by two and one-tenth percent on July first of 2014,23 2015, 2016, and 2017.24 ACT No. 375 SB NO. 188 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. Section 2. The provisions of Section 1 of this Act shall only become effective in the1 event that any salary increases conform to the appropriation provided in House Bill No. 6912 of the 2013 Regular Session of the Legislature.3 Section 3. The provisions of Sections 2 and 3 of this Act shall become effective4 upon signature by the governor or, if not signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time5 for bills to become law without signature by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section6 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
