Martiny (SB 188) Act No. 375
New law provides that effective July 1, 2013, the actual salary of the judges of the supreme
court, courts of appeal, and district courts shall be increased as follows:
(1)Supreme court - 5.5%.
(2)Courts of appeal - 3.7%.
(3)District court - 4%.
Provides that the actual salary of the judges of the supreme court, courts of appeal, and
district courts shall be increased by 2.1% on July 1
st
of 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Provides that effective July 1, 2013, the state-paid actual salary of city court and parish court
judges shall be increased by 4%.
Provides that the state-paid salary of city court and parish court judges shall be increased by
2.1% on July 1
st
of 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Provides that the salary increases contained in new law only become effective if the
increases conform to the appropriation contained in that act which originated as HB 691.
Provisions enumerating the actual percentage of salary increases take effect August 1, 2013.
Provisions that salary increases conform to the appropriation in HB 691 takes effect upon
signature by the governor.
