DIGEST
Proposed law provides for immunity from civil or criminal liability for a person who in good
faith makes a report of suspicious behavior or activity. Defines a “report of suspicious behavior
or activity” as any communication to a law enforcement agency or other appropriate authority of
the behavior or activity of another person that is made with the reasonable belief that such
behavior or activity constitutes, or is in furtherance of, a crime or act of terrorism.
Proposed law does not apply to the intentional making of a report known to be false or with
reckless disregard for the truth of the report.
Effective August 1, 2013.
