MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE RET. Provides for participation by the West Calcasieu

AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 11:1732(14)(a), relative to employers participating in the2
Municipal Employees' Retirement System; to provide for participation by the West3
Calcasieu Parish Community Center Authority; to provide for an effective date; and4
to provide for related matters.5
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 11:1732(14)(a) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
ยง1732. Definitions9
The following words and phrases, as used in this Chapter, unless a different10
meaning is plainly required by the context, shall have the following meaning:11

(14)(a) "Employer" or "participating employer" means:13
(i) Any incorporated city, town, or village in the state of Louisiana ;.14
(ii) The Municipal Association of Louisiana ;.15
(iii) The Louisiana Energy and Power Authority ;.16

(v) This retirement system ; and.1
(vi) Any planning and development commission in the state of Louisiana2
which has entered into an agreement with the board.3
(vii) The West Calcasieu Parish Community Center Authority.4

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on June 30, 2013; if vetoed by the6
governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on7
June 30, 2013, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
