AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 30:215(A), relative to nonexclusive geophysical permits; to2
provide certain terms, conditions, and requirements for certain nonexclusive3
geophysical permits; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 30:215(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง215.  Nonexclusive geophysical permits7
A. A nonexclusive permit to conduct seismic, geophysical, or geological8
surveying upon state-owned lands, including water bottoms, shall be valid for one9
year from the date of issuance. However, if operations commence within the year10
and are ceased due to unforeseen circumstances, the term may be extended for up to11
one year from the cessation of operations by the secretary of Department of Natural12
Resources. The permittee shall pay to the office of mineral resources at the time13
of application for the seismic permit a fee. Such fee shall be determined by the14
State Mineral and Energy Board at least every twelve 	month months or more as15
often as necessary. The fee shall be based upon market value but shall be no more16
than thirty dollars and no less than five dollars per acre.17

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not19
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature20
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If21 SB NO. 39	ENROLLED

vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become1
effective on the day following such approval.2
