Provides responsive verdicts for the crime of aggravated incest. (gov sig) AN ACT1 To enact Code of Criminal Procedure Article 814(A)(60), relative to responsive verdicts; to2 provide responsive verdicts for the crime of aggravated incest; and to provide for3 related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. Code of Criminal Procedure Article 814(A)(60) is hereby enacted to read6 as follows: 7 Art. 814. Responsive verdicts; in particular8 A. The only responsive verdicts which may be rendered when the indictment9 charges the following offenses are:10 * * *11 60. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not4 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature5 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. Clement, Jr. DIGEST Walsworth (SB 92) Present law provides responsive verdicts for certain present law crimes. Proposed law retains present law and adds the following responsive verdicts for the present law crime of aggravated incest: (1)Guilty. (2)Guilty of aggravated incest on a victim under the age of 13 years when the offender is 17 years of age or older. (3)Guilty of attempted aggravated incest. (4)Guilty of attempted aggravated incest on a victim under the age of 13 years when the offender is 17 years of age or older. (5)Not guilty.
