COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Jesuit High School Blue Jays varsity lacrosse team
on winning the 2013 Louisiana state championship.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Jesuit High School Blue Jays varsity lacrosse team on winning the 20132
Louisiana state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School varsity lacrosse team completed a sensational4
season and earned the 2013 state championship title by defeating the St. Paul's High School5
Wolves by a score of 6-5 on April 28, 2013; and6
WHEREAS, the championship win was the culmination of another unforgettable7
season; and8
WHEREAS, the team performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the9
2013 season and the playoffs and each of them deserves recognition for his vital10
contributions toward the winning effort; and11
WHEREAS, Austin Triay scored the game winning goal and earned the honor of12
Most Valuable Player-Offense; and13
WHEREAS, Jorge Abadin held the opposing team to five goals and earned the honor14
of Most Valuable Player-Defense; and15
WHEREAS, defensive standouts Antonio Scelfo, Steven Fall, Chris Powers, Trip16
LeCorgne, and Robert Montenegro disrupted the Wolves' scoring; and17
WHEREAS, Arman Alizadeh, Zach Tassin, Brandon Barnett, Thomas Nimmo, and18 SCR NO. 124

Austin Triay scored the goals for the Blue Jays; and1
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved2
without the guidance and skills of Coach Mike Brantley and the assistant coaches, as well3
as all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the Jesuit High School4
Blue Jays varsity lacrosse team; and5
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2013 season upholds the glorious tradition of the6
Blue Jays, and all Jesuit High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and7
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, its community, and to the state of8
Louisiana.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby10
commend and congratulate the Jesuit High School Blue Jays varsity lacrosse team on11
winning the 2013 Louisiana High School state championship and does hereby extend best12
wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with the outstanding lacrosse program13
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the15
president of Jesuit High School, Fr. Raymond Fitzgerald, and to the coach of the varsity16
lacrosse team, Mike Brantley.17
