SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 60
BY SENATOR LONG 
COASTAL PROTECT/RES AUTH.  Requests federal, state, and local governing authorities
when contracting for coastal restoration and protection projects to give priority to Louisiana
businesses.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request federal, state, and local governing authorities when contracting for2
coastal restoration and protection projects to give priority to Louisiana businesses.3
WHEREAS, the state of Louisiana is facing an unprecedented crisis due to the rapid4
loss of its coast and wetlands, a challenge that is threatening its communities, industry and5
small businesses, and culture; and6
WHEREAS, this crisis has created a need for a concerted effort involving multiple7
state and federal agencies, as well as local levee boards, parish officials, private industries,8
and concerned citizens; and9
WHEREAS, the legislature has mandated that the Coastal Protection and Restoration10
Authority develop and implement a comprehensive coastal protection and restoration master11
plan that will include numerous coastal restoration and protection projects that will protect12
Louisiana's communities, its industry and small businesses, the nation's critical energy13
infrastructure, and the state's bountiful natural resources; and14
WHEREAS, Louisiana's industry and small businesses are also threatened by our15
coastal crisis and will be an integral part in participating in the numerous infrastructure16
projects that will be necessary to restore the state's coasts and protect its people.17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby18 SCR NO. 60

urge and request federal, state, and local governing authorities when contracting for coastal1
restoration and protection projects to give priority to Louisiana businesses.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the3
executive director of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.4
