SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 107

A RESOLUTION
To commend the LSU gymnastics team and their coaches on its outstanding 2013 season
and for making it to the Super Six competition for the third time in the last six years.
WHEREAS, this year's LSU gymnastics team advanced to the NCAA Super Six
competition for the third time in the last six years, joining the 2008 and 2009 teams; and
WHEREAS, LSU finished the season fifth in the country, the second highest finish
in school history; and
WHEREAS, this team racked up ten NCAA All-American honors tying the school
record set in 2006 and again in 2009; and
WHEREAS, LSU won the NCAA Regional Title in Columbus, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, the Tigers finished the season with 25 wins, including 10 postseason
wins, the most since the 1990 squad won 11; and
WHEREAS, this team tied the school record for the most 197 scores in a season,
scored the third best score in school history and earned the highest finish at the SEC
competition since 2005; and
WHEREAS, LSU gymnasts Sarie Morrison, Llominica Hall and Rheagan Courville
earned perfect 10.0 scores this season; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach D-D Breaux received the Coach of the Year award at the
NCAA Central Regional meet in Columbus, Ohio, and Associate Head Coach Jay Clark and
Assistant Head Coach Bob Moore shared Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year
honors.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
hereby commends the LSU gymnastics team and their coaches on its outstanding 2013
season and for making it to the Super Six competition for the third time in the last six years. SR NO. 107 ENROLLED
