SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 108

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Rheagan Courville, Llomincia Hall, and Jessica Savona
of the LSU gymnastics team for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2013 season.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Rheagan Courville, Llomincia Hall, and Jessica Savona of the LSU2
gymnastics team for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2013 season.3
WHEREAS, Rheagan Courville became the sixth national champion in LSU history4
by winning the NCAA Vault National Title, her first career national title; and5
WHEREAS, Rheagan earned SEC Gymnast of the Year, Central Region Gymnast6
of the Year and Honda Award Finalist honors in 2013; and7
WHEREAS, she captured the SEC All-Around title, vault and beam titles becoming8
the first LSU gymnast to win three SEC titles in one season; and 9
WHEREAS, Rheagan finished 2013 with six All-American honors including two on10
vault and two in the all-around; and 11
WHEREAS, this sophomore Tiger was the National Runner-Up for the NCAA12
All-Around title, the second-highest finish in school history in the All-Around; and13
WHEREAS, Llomincia Hall was ranked Number 1 in the nation most of the season14
on the floor exercise; and15
WHEREAS, Llomincia won the SEC Floor Title for the second year in a row,16
becoming the third LSU gymnast to win two conference floor titles in a career and she is17

WHEREAS, she earned two All-American honors on floor this season, including1
first-team recognition for the regular season and earned all SEC honors for the second2
straight year; and3
WHEREAS, Jessica Savona won the SEC Floor Title, sharing the title with teammate4
Llomincia Hall and earning her all SEC recognition, after scoring a career high of 9.95; and5
WHEREAS, Jessica was only the fourth LSU gymnast in school history to win the6
SEC Floor Title, joining Sandra Smith, Ashleigh-Clare Kearney, and Hall; and7
WHEREAS, when Jessica scored a 9.925 on floor in the season opener, she achieved8
the highest event score in a freshman's first meet in LSU history as no other freshman ever9
scored above 9.90 in their first meet as a Tiger until Savona.10
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana11
hereby commends Rheagan Courville, Llomincia Hall, and Jessica Savona of the LSU12
gymnastics team for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2013 season.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to14
Rheagan Courville, Llomincia Hall, and Jessica Savona.15
