COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star Prince
Hall Affiliation of Louisiana on its 75
th
Anniversary to be celebrated on June 12-16, 2013,
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation of2
Louisiana on its seventy-fifth anniversary.3
WHEREAS, Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the auxiliary and adopted4
body of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons,5
Louisiana Jurisdiction, was organized January 12, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and6
incorporated by the state of Louisiana on December 4, 1954; and7
WHEREAS, Esther Grand Chapter, a nonprofit organization, had a mere ten chapters8
at its inception; and9
WHEREAS, the Esther Grand Chapter now proudly boasts of more than one hundred10
forty-five chapters and a continuous growing membership of more than five thousand; and11
WHEREAS, "Through our Youth" Fraternities the Esther Grand Chapter provides12
young people with guidance that helps to build character and self-esteem while providing13
them with a recreational outlet; and14
WHEREAS, the Esther Grand Chapter contributes more than $60,000 annually to15
Camp Chicota, a youth camp in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, owned and operated by the16
Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Louisiana and Esther Grand Chapter Order17

WHEREAS, annually, the Esther Grand Chapter makes donations to deserving1
charities during their Grand Session held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and2
WHEREAS, the Esther Grand Chapter participates in the following major activities:3
voter registration, volunteer services, food banks, tutorial services, scholarship awards,4
sponsors of youth organizations, provides school supplies, Second Harvest Food Drive, Toys5
for Tots, New Orleans Mission, and sponsors senior citizen functions; and6
WHEREAS, the Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation7
of Louisiana has engaged in philanthropic activities for seventy-five years.8
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana9
does hereby congratulate and commend the Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star10
Prince Hall Affiliation of Louisiana on its seventy-fifth anniversary.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the12
Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation of Louisiana.13
