SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 163
BY SENATOR GALLOT 
A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
passing of Cecil Ferguson III, affectionately known as "Chop".
WHEREAS, Cecil Ferguson III was born on July 2, 1973, in Shreveport to proud
parents, Cecil Jr. and Lizzie Bradford-Ferguson; and
WHEREAS, Cecil grew to become a positive influence and light to everyone he
came in contact with; and
WHEREAS, his parents taught him the ways of the Lord at an early age and he was
baptized and became a saved Christian while attending Sagemont Baptist Church in
Houston, TX; and
WHEREAS, Cecil graduated from Chatham High School where he played basketball
and later attended Grambling State University; and
WHEREAS, he was the oldest grandson of the late Cecil Ferguson Sr. and Edna
Dudley and his maternal grandparents Ibe Bradford and Mattie Stringfellow-Bradford; and
WHEREAS, he leaves behind his loving parents Cecil Jr. and Lizzie Bradford-
Ferguson, his siblings LaShandrea Rene', Derrithe LaMar, Angel Shantrel, Prance J'Air Ibe,
and JaMarcus Markray; and
WHEREAS, his younger brother Christopher passed later the same day; and
WHEREAS, Cecil leaves adorable sons Donterrion McMurry, Camdyn Crow, and
Choptavis and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, loving relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, Cecil will be missed greatly and cherished forever.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of Cecil Ferguson III
during their time of sorrow. SR NO. 163	ENROLLED

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Mr.
Cecil Ferguson and to Mrs. Lizzie Bradford-Ferguson.
