Requests office of motor vehicles to study issues relative to public tag agents issuing driver's license renewals and other services to improve service to citizens. A RESOLUTION1 To urge and request the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor2 vehicles, to study the issues relative to public tag agents issuing driver's license3 renewals as well as other office of motor vehicles services which may improve4 service delivery to citizens of Louisiana, and to submit a written report of its findings5 and recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and6 Public Works not later than thirty days prior to the convening of the 2014 Regular7 Session of the Legislature.8 WHEREAS, public tag agents provide certain office of motor vehicle services in a9 convenient, economic, and timely manner; and10 WHEREAS, expansion of the office of motor vehicle services which public tag11 agents are authorized to provide such as issuing driver's license renewals as well as other12 services may improve service delivery to the citizens of Louisiana.13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana14 does hereby urge and request the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of15 motor vehicles, to study the issues relative to public tag agents issuing driver's license16 renewals as well as other office of motor vehicles services which may improve service17 delivery to citizens of Louisiana, and to submit a written report of its findings and18 SR NO. 201 SLS 13RS-3635 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works1 not later than thirty days prior to the convening of the 2014 Regular Session of the2 Legislature.3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted4 to the deputy secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety5 services, and to the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and Correction, office6 of motor vehicles.7 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Sharon F.
