SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 36
BY SENATOR PEACOCK 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club in celebrating
its centennial for one hundred years of common ownership.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club in celebrating its2
centennial for one hundred years of common ownership.3
WHEREAS, the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club was charted on June 26, 1913,4
and is celebrating its centennial for one hundred years of common ownership; and5
WHEREAS, beginning with an initial capital stock of fifteen thousand dollars and6
an authorized fifty shares, the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club has established and7
maintained a hunting and fishing park and preserve, and a lake stocked with fish; and8
WHEREAS, the club has also constructed and maintained a clubhouse and lodge in9
Caddo Parish off U.S. Highway 80 between Greenwood and Waskom, a mere shooting10
distance from the state line shared with Texas; and11
WHEREAS, since its founding, the club has established other forms of outdoor12
recreation and amusement for its members and their families; and13
WHEREAS, the original board of directors included J.P. Flournoy, Jno. B. Files, J.S.14
Thigpen, George W. Robinson, E.K. Smith, P. Youree, A.N. Sample, Andrew Querbes, Ed15
Dickinson, Sam W. Mason, R.B. Cook, and W.C. Evans; and16
WHEREAS, the club's first president was Sam W. Mason, the first vice president was17
Ed Dickinson, and R. B. Cook served as the first secretary-treasurer; and18 SR NO. 36

WHEREAS, in additiona to the original board of directors, the twenty-three original1
shareholders included L.C. Blanchard, S.Y. Alexander, W.A. Mabry, J.D. Wilkinson, S.L.2
Herold, J.B. Ardis, T.C. Barret, J.M. Foster, F.T. Whited, D.P. Eubank, and S.J. Harman;3
and4
WHEREAS, in 2013, there are thirty members in good standing, each owning one5
share and they are Don Angle, Janet Bergeron, Carter Brill, Paul Davis, Claude DeBeaux Jr.,6
Philip Dupree, Tom Flores, William Furrh III, Katherine Hall, Anne Hall, LiLin Hally, Dixie7
Henderson, Amiee Hilliard, John Hoffman, Jim Huckabay, Tom Jorden, Lynn Lasiter,8
Gerald LeBlanc, Paula O'Neal, Barrow Peacock, Martin Philyaw, Patricia Post, David9
Robbins, Bill Robbins III, Tom Scott, John David Stewart, Alec Van Nook, N.H. Wheeless10
Jr., Judy Williams, and Charles Wood; and11
WHEREAS, the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club supports the Second12
Amendment of the Constitution of the United States; and13
WHEREAS, the club teaches and promotes conservation, and has reinvested its14
income from natural resources into preserving the land for fishing and hunting; and15
WHEREAS, the club encourages families to participate in the various forms of16
wildlife recreation and to invest in the future of wildlife; and17
WHEREAS, the members of the club and their dedication to and protection of our18
state's hunting, fishing, and wildlife watching opportunities help to ensure that Louisiana is19
and will forever be known as the Sportsman's Paradise.20
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana21
does hereby commend and congratulate the State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club in22
celebrating its centennial for one hundred years of common ownership.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the24
State-Line Fishing and Hunting Club.25
