SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 54
BY SENATORS BROOME AND DORSEY-COLOMB 
CONDOLENCES.  Expresses condolences upon the death of Zelma Delores Warner Hall.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2
death of Zelma Delores Warner Hall.3
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the members of the Senate of the Legislature4
of Louisiana have learned of the passing of Zelma Delores Warner Hall on April 24, 2013,5
at age ninety-six; and 6
WHEREAS, a native of Alsen and resident of Baton Rouge, she was a 1935 graduate7
of McKinley High School, received a bachelor's degree from Southern University, and8
completed additional studies at Atlanta University and Louisiana State University; and9
WHEREAS, Zelma Hall taught at Eden Park, Perkins Road and was an initial faculty10
member at Buchanan Elementary School; and11
WHEREAS, she was a member of New St. John Baptist Church, Lucky 20 Social12
Club, Central City Exxon Annuity Club and Educators of Yesteryear; and 13
WHEREAS, Zelma Hall was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Laula14
Griffin Warner; husband, Tony Joseph Hall; son, Anthony Joseph Hall; brothers, Joe, Peter15
and Charlie Gray, Willie, Arthur and David Warner; sisters, Edna Gray, Pinkey, Mary and16
Ethel Warner and Elmena W. Daniel; and17
WHEREAS, she is survived by her daughters, Mamye L. Hall and Arlene Jan H.18 SR NO. 54

Sampson; goddaughter, Linda S. Daniel; daughter-in-law, Marion A. Hall; grandson,1
Anthony J. Hall II; great-granddaughter, Precious L. Hall; great-grandson, Tyler K. Howard;2
great great-granddaughter, Keiona M. Payne; sisters in law; Ruth M., Ruth K., and Alice F.3
Hall; nephews, Henry Gray, David A. Jr. and wife Pamela, Sidney W. and wife Lillian,4
Terry R. and wife Sharon, Charles B. and wife Lisa and Kent G. Hall; nieces, Doretha S.5
Delandro and Retired General Donald Delandro and Annette G. Horton; a special cousin,6
Elaine M. Griffin; and adopted granddaughter, Laina Dabney; and 7
WHEREAS, her memory as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-8
grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and as a dedicated educator, will be9
held dear by her family, friends, former students, and those that had the opportunity to know10
her.11
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana12
hereby expresses its sympathy and extends sincere condolences to the family of Zelma13
Delores Warner Hall on the occasion of her passing.14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the15
family of Zelma Delores Warner Hall.16
