SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti upon his investiture as the
President of Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti upon his investiture as the2
seventeenth president of Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans on April3
12, 2013.4
WHEREAS, Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti earned his bachelor's degree from Loyola5
College in Baltimore, Maryland, and his master's degree and PhD from Bowling Green6
University in Bowling Green, Ohio; and7
WHEREAS, prior to his career in higher education administration, he honorably8
served five years in the United States Army; and9
WHEREAS, Dr. Ambrosetti's forty year career in education is comprised of10
numerous accomplishments which include serving as Dean of the College and Provost at St.11
John Fisher College in Rochester, New York; Associate Vice-President for Faculty Affairs12
and Academic Resources at California State University at Dominquez Hills; Dean of the13
Feinstein College of Arts and Sciences at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode14
Island; and Associate Dean of the Faculty at the State University of New York College of15
Fredonia; and16
WHEREAS, he has served as the Lead External Reviewer for two different five year17
Periodic Review Reports conducted by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education,18 SR NO. 65

as guest speaker for Project H.O.P.E. (Hispanics Organized for Progress in Education), and1
as the Faculty Advisor for the Newman Club, SUNY Fredonia; and2
WHEREAS, in addition to numerous academic articles, Dr. Ambrosetti is the author3
of the book, Eric Ambler, and co-author of Eye on the Future; Popular Culture, and4
Continuities in Popular Culture and Curricula; and5
WHEREAS, Dr. Ambrosetti wrote in his letter of candidacy, "Upon seeing our6
Presidential Search Profile, along with reading carefully the OLHCC Strategic Plan, I found7
the charisma of the Marianites of the Holy Cross resonating deeply in my own Catholic,8
scholastic background"; and9
WHEREAS, the students, faculty and staff of Our Lady of Holy Cross College10
welcome Dr. Ambrosetti to the helm of their campus and look forward to his tenure as11
President.12
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana13
does hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti upon his investiture as14
President of Our Lady of Holy Cross College, does hereby recognize and record for15
prosperity his exemplary leadership, and hereby extends to him best wishes for success in16
the future.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Dr.18
Ronald J. Ambrosetti.19
