SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
BY SENATOR GALLOT 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends and congratulates Reverend Frank J. Jackson.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate Reverend Frank J. Jackson, new pastor of St. Matthew2
Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana.3
WHEREAS, Reverend Frank J. Jackson is married to Annie R. Jackson and they4
have four children and nine grandchildren; and5
WHEREAS, he is a graduate of Montgomery High School in Montgomery,6
Louisiana; attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches; and graduated from7
United Theological Seminary and Bible College in Monroe with a bachelor's degree in 19988
and with a master's degree in 2000; and9
WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson is a veteran of the United States Army serving from10
June 1979 to March 1985 and has been a member of the Louisiana National Guard since11
June 1985; and12
WHEREAS, since September 1987, he has been employed by the United States13
Property Office for Louisiana at Camp Beauregard in Alexandria, first as a central issue14
facility manager and, since 2001, supply logistic management specialist; and 15
WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson was licensed to preach in September 1987 and16
ordained in 1990 at Mt. Pilgram Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Colfax, Louisiana, under17
Pastor Rev. Albert Sykes Jr.; and18 SR NO. 75

WHEREAS, he is a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce under Pastor1
Rev. Dr. Joe S. Green; and2
WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson pastored at Calvary Baptist Church in Colfax from3
November 1991 to January 2000; Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville from4
January 2000 to January 2003; and Providence Family Ministry in Alexandria from June5
2003 to April 2013, before coming to St. Matthew Baptist Church; and 6
WHEREAS, as pastor, he provides spiritual and doctrinal exposition for the well7
being of the congregation and community, coordinates worship services; provides pastoral8
counseling; plans and implements ministries and programs that will benefit the congregation9
and the community; and10
WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson currently serves as extension support personnel for11
the United Theological Seminary and Bible College; is a board member of Pineville Concern12
Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit civic organization that seeks to enhance community well being13
within the Pineville area, and is a board member of Seeds of Harvest Ministry in Alexandria,14
a ministry that focuses on helping senior citizens accomplish some of their daily needs; and15
WHEREAS, he also served as President of Central Louisiana Ministerial Association16
and President of Grant Winn 8th District Baptist Association; was a founding director of17
Colfax United Partnership Plan; and was founder of Consortium of Churches Pantry.18
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana19
does hereby commend and congratulate Reverend Frank J. Jackson, new pastor of St.20
Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to22
Reverend Frank J. Jackson.23
