SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 83

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the armed forces of the United States and proclaims May
as Military Appreciation Month in the Senate.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the members of the armed forces of the United States and to recognize their2
tremendous service and the great sacrifices they make on behalf of their homeland.3
WHEREAS, armed forces of the United States are spread around the world in more4
than one hundred fifty countries, protecting American lives and interests, and being forever5
vigilant that its citizens are safe as they travel the country and the world; and6
WHEREAS, the month of May is traditionally used as a time of honor and7
recognition of this nation's armed forces who have given their lives protecting this country's8
interests during ceremonies surrounding Memorial Day.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana10
does hereby commend all members of the armed forces of America and recognize that their11
services and sacrifices are vital to the future of the United States, and this legislative body12
does, in honor of these brave Americans, hereby proclaim the month of May 2013 as13
Military Appreciation Month in the Louisiana Senate.14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the15
Adjutant General of the Louisiana Army National Guard.16 SR NO. 83
